Terms of Business
Deposit
All booking applications for Point House & The CaraPod must be accompanied by a deposit.
The deposit is accepted as part payment, the balance should be paid not less than 42 days (6 weeks) before the starting date of the holiday. If the booking is made less than 42 days before the starting date of the holiday, the full amount should be paid.
Payment of the deposit is acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Good Housekeeping Deposit
A Good Housekeeping Deposit of £150.00 is included in the final balance of your holiday payment at Point House
The Holidaymaker is responsible for the property during the period of the rental and is expected to take good care of it.
All equipment, utensils and general property must be left clean and tidy at the end of the hire period. In the unfortunate event of damage or breakages, the owner must be notified. All damages and breakages are the legal responsibility of the Holidaymaker, and the Holidaymaker agrees to pay a reasonable replacement cost as required by the Owner.
The Holidaymaker is expected to leave the holiday accommodation in which it was found, so in a state of cleanliness and good order. An additional charge may be made if additional cleaning is required.
This deposit is refunded in full with 7 days of your departure providing that no damage or breakages have been reported.
Reservation
Reservation is subject to the accommodation being available when the deposit is received and then confirmed by us by email.
Balance Payment
Where a booking has been made online with a card payment, the balance will automatically be taken when due unless we are notified 4 days prior to payment date.
Non receipt of the full accommodation charged at the time specified above will be treated as a cancellation of reservation and the deposit will be forfeited. The booking will then be subject to a non-payment cancellation procedure where the whole cost of the holiday accommodation will become due, unless we are able to re-let for the same period at an equivalent rate.
Cancellation
Flexible cancellation terms for every NEW guest.
All new bookings made after 20 April 2020 and arriving after 1 August 2020 are fully insured by MASTER CANCEL Insurance policy.
Guests may cancel for any reason between 60 days and 2 days before check-in for 100% refund - inc deposit!
A surcharge of 3.9% is added to the balance to cover your protection.
MASTER CANCEL covers all booking sources, including OTA/Third Party bookings.
Arrival and Departure
Weekly holidays are booked from Friday to Friday (any number of weeks).
Short breaks are Mon-Fri or Fri - Mon
The property will be available from 15.00 unless by prior arrangement. You are asked to vacate the property by 10.00am on the day of departure.
Please leave the property clean and tidy, in the condition in which you found it, departure notes can be found in the property.
Maximum Number of Occupants
Unless prior authority has been received, the number of people occupying the property MUST NOT exceed the number for which
beds are provided.
Hot Tub
The hot tub is for the use of resident guests only.
If the hot tub requires cleaning and re-filling during your stay an excess charge of £100 will be made.
Pets
We welcome a max of 2 dogs but we ask that they be kept under proper control.
All dogs must be 6months old + and house trained.
Dogs are not permitted on furniture or upstairs.
All dog mess, hairs and residue must be cleared from the house & garden.
We reserve the right to charge for any cleaning made necessary by your pets.
Dog owners are advised to keep their animals under strict control around the neighbouring livestock.
Breakages / Spillages
Accidents do happen!! Don't worry!! Please do tell us! Any damage caused to the property or any equipment lost, damaged or broken during the occupancy should be reported and paid for. Missing or damaged items will be deducted from the Good Housekeeping Deposit..
Unsuitable Hirers
The owners reserve the right to refuse to hand over holiday accommodation to any person who, in their opinion, is unsuitable to take charge. In this case, money will be refunded in full. The owners reserve the right to ask guests to leave the property within the duration of their stay if the property is, in the opinion of the owners or their representatives, being mistreated. In this instance no refunds will be given and the Housekeeping Deposit will be forfeited.
Rural Location
Due to our remote location our water supply is on a bore hole, this is tested by Argyll & Bute Environmental Health every year and is certified. The bore hole relies on electricity to pump the water, in the rare event of a power cut the water supply will be affected. A temporary supply will be provided where possible. All hirers accept this condition as part of the charm of Kintyre. The owners accept no responsibilty for loss of services outwith our control and no refunds can be given.
In extreme hot weather conditions where there is a risk of water shortage we may have to restrict use of the Hot Tubs.
A partial refund of no more than 20% of the total booking value will be refunded.
Problems
If you have any problems during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to deal with them quickly, and not let anything spoil your holiday. Any problems not reported to us during your stay will not be able to be rectified in due course. Contact information is available in the Welcome Pack.
COVID-19
The health & well being of our guests is paramount. For the 2020 season all guests are politely asked to assist us in making your stay and that of subsequent guests as safe as possible.
All guests are politely asked to bring their own towels.
On departure all guests are asked to strip the beds and bag the bedding.
If you or any guest develops symptoms during your stay and are forced to self isolate in our property, additional charges will apply.
To ensure that all hygiene levels are satisfactorily met, there may be a delay in the hand over of the property on arrival. In the event of any delay no compensation will be offered.
