One thing is certain – it draws attention wherever it goes.
That’s why it’s also widely known as ‘the coolest caravan on the planet’.

Iconic and stylish, the Carapod is the retro teardrop caravan that is perfect for cycling holidays, weekend breaks, sporting events and so much more.

The owners of the Pod Caravan company, Nigel and Paula Broderick, list their likes as adventure, classic cars, wildlife and challenges. Adventure and classic cars have been an important part of their lives, successfully competing around the world in rallies including the World Cup Rally, Safari Rally, Peking to Paris and the Classic Monte Carlo. Their business experience includes being listed twice in the Sunday Times/Virgin Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies and are winners of the BT Innovations Award. Having ‘retired’ from business they purchased a cattle ranch in Africa which they transformed into a game reserve specialising in endangered antelope. They returned to Somerset for the good life, but missed the challenge of business. News that the Pod Caravan company was being sold was too much to ignore and enthusiastically jumped at the chance to own the company. Nigel is now generally in the workshop aided by their two dogs Mungo and Boysie.

The pod is everything they love: the outdoor life, a quality product, innovation and, above all, simplicity.

Nigel believes you can’t beat simplicity. “There is no plumbing to leak, no chemicals to add and no tanks to fill or empty. Just hitch up and go. And above all, the pod is made for a purpose, not to a price. I have seen too many products fail because production costs are cut. The quality of the materials and build will always determine the longevity and value of a product, and I really saw that in the pod”.

The pod has recently been re-engineered using SMART technology and modern lightweight materials resulting in a product of exceptional quality and strength while retaining the original charm. practicality and deceptively spacious accommodation.

The pod has appeared on Blue Peter, The Caravan Show, Carry on Caravanning, and in many broadsheets and publications. It has also featured in the window of Bonpoint, an exclusive clothing store in Paris and in Garden Style by Rochelle Greyer.
